Polyurethane Grout Injection

During Christmas of 2012 and New Years of 2013, UNIPRO was asked to mobilize to an emergency situation at a Renton industrial plant cafeteria.  A large grease Interceptor and wet well was leaking due to negative side hydrostatic pressure threatening the closure of the cafeteria that feeds 100’s of workers each day.  The concrete Interceptor located below a main hallway leading to the cateteria (inside the plant) was assessable only through a single manhole cover.  The cafeteria was schedule to open after the holidays, on January 2, 2013.

To complete the scope of work required 14-16 hours days.  The concrete tank had to be pump dry, cleaned, patched, stop all leaks, and then finish with a polyurea coating.  This proved difficult since the tank was filling at a rate of 2 feet every 8 hours.

UNIPRO worked feverishly, drilling and sealing dozens of locations allowing water-infiltration.  Each port drilled caused a full hose stream of water due to the high hydrostatic pressure.  Each port sealed resulted in another area leaking.  It was a constant chase around the Interceptor vault. Literally gallons of water had to be continuously pumped away as the work continued. All work was completed on time.

UNIPRO provides professional polyurethane grout injection for below grade substrates against water infiltration.  Our installations provide hydrophobic and hydrophilic polyurethane grout injection products. Our polyurethane grout injection installations are commonly used for stopping water infiltration and sealing joints in: defective concrete, concrete joints, limestone, brick, pipe intrusions, waste water tanks, drinking water reservoirs, reservoirs, sewers, manholes, tunnels, and dams.
