This $160 million Design/Build joint venture expansion project consists of constructing
a group of buildings in a “compact campus” style arrangement with related site development and utilities.
· Medium Housing - 4 buildings, 1024 beds, 512 cells
· Hybrid Housing - 3 buildings, 768 beds, 288 cells
· Segregation Housing - 1 building, 100 beds & cells
· Approximately 508,000 sf
Work also includes design and construction of required infrastructure including water, sewer, electrical, gas, low voltage services, security fences, security lights, and roads.
Program spaces include education, wellness, vocational space, kitchen hub, and outside administration building. New support facilities will be built to service the expansion as well as future expansion capacity. The new facilities will have a 100-year useful life for the building structures and enclosures.
The Coyote Ridge expansion is currently the largest non-transportation public works project in Washington and largest prison construction project in the United States. It is also on track to be the first prison campus to receive at least a LEED silver rating. The project will be completed two months ahead of schedule and under budget.
